Change from the first survey in 2011 to the second survey in 2016.
* Indicates statistically significant difference (95% confidence) between surveys. Also indicated by darker color and solid fill, in both the slope graph in the middle column and the diamond in the right-hand column of the dashboard.
Data availability: (1) For microcystins and the three chemical indicators, due to improvements in sample collection protocols, the area assessed in 2016 changed compared to 2011. Change is not presented for these four indicators because it is not possible to determine whether changes are related to the increase in area assessed or an actual change in condition for the indicator. (2) Some subpopulations did not include enough sites to allow for statistically robust estimates. Enhancements EPA made to the survey design in NWCA 2021 will address this for most subpopulations.
